Natural monument “Starichkov Island” is located in 30 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatky in the Pacific ocean. There are no forests on the island, only some bushes on the top, such as willow and alder small trees. It is surrounded by multiple riffs and stones. The surrounding zone is a spawning place for such fishes as greenling, different species of goby-fish and a number of the other fishes. The island is a nesting place for more than 50 thousand of birds of 11 species. The main ones are puffins and alcidae.
The boat passes Zavoiko peninsula, Lagernaya bay, ‘Devil’s claw”, island “Grandmother’s stone” and legendary rocks which are called “Three brothers”. By the legend three brothers were the sons of raven Kutkh (ancestor – father of native people of Kamchatka) who protected the city from tsunami. Now they are in the sea standing turned in to the stone and defending the entrance into Avachinskaya bay from big waves. Then the boat enters Avachinsky gulf and goes to Grotovaya bay where the diver catches for you from the bottom star –seas, sea-urchins, laminaria. Then the boat reaches Starichkov island and comes back into Avachinskaya bay. During the cruise you may see common seals, killer-whales and if you are lucky a big blue whale. Tourists have a wonderful fishing in the picturesque small Tikhaya bay. You may catch flounder, greenling, sea-bass. After fishing you enjoy fish-soup and sea delicious products.
