Competitions are held in the framrwork of Kamchatka festival of winter sports. In 2010 there was a decision to resume these competitions after a 5-year interval. The length of the route is 60 km with maximum altitude 1100 m above sea level. The peculiarity of this marathon is that participants have on ly the map of the route and a sport backpack of not less than 3 kg of outfit. The toute passes such unigue natural places as Mutnovsko-Goreloye plateau, Vilyuchinsky volcano, Babiy Kamen and Corona hills. Only well-prepared professional sportsmen can take part in this race. |

Contest of field cooks was established by the public organization “Kamchatka society os ecotourism” in 2006. Thr purpose of the event: - to concentrate attention to a very important role of field cooks in qualitative organization of travels in nature, to keep traditions of regional cousiine and of ecological tourism itself. Every team includes 2 perosons – a cook and an assistant. By tradition they prepare 2 dishes – fishing soup and tellnoe or something else depending on the assortment of products. All dishes are prepared only on fire. Besides, there is a nomination “Best home dish”, which is prepared from products which participants took with them. |
